All hold for new home.

Been a bit slow on the updates and work on the Mini has all but stopped.
It's all for a good reason…

Just buying a house. Just in time for X-Mass. May speed up work on the mini when move in or if have no £ may just stay the same. Hope having inside work space will help.

May look into taking engine out and dropping subframes out and giving it a good clean. Also will let me see what's going on and if I can get on top of it all.

Time will tell, will try and keep you up to date on what's going on.

Mini spotlight try on

Just a quick look at what the spotlight are/may look like when fit. Not looking to bad.

Spotlight mounts in the bag

Ok, got some old spotlights that I was given from my father in-law, they just been sitting in there for about a year I think so been looking for some mounts for them for ages.
Was getting to the oping where I was going to make some from sheet metal but then put a cheeky bid in on some on eBay, got them for £2 including p&p. Cost me more to do them myself!
But it's going to have to fit them later as going to be moving soon. But if get 5/10 min may pop them on to see haw look.

Dash it

Ok so been off for a week, but not a good start to it with the wether. Also been running around doing other stuff…
So I have got round to start cutting one side of the dash, I'm trying to make a dash to go around the the speedo 2 clock housing, as I like it. So making more work for myself.
Usually if your putting a new dash in you would take the clocks out and fix them to the back of the new dashboard and fix it as one pease. As I'm keeping the clock housing I've got to make and cut 2 parts to go on both sides. Got one side on the way as you can see from the photo, just need some fine tuning to fit.

She's a runner

Well it's been a good day I think, got the new battery in the Mini and got her going. Didn't take as long as I was expecting to get her going. She started up on the 2nd turn of the key. Also I had a go at colotuning her so think I got it right. She sound and seems to be running well and a good Volta output, but will ask the lads at the garage to have a quick look when I get her MOT. As it stands that not going to happen to soon as there are some things that will need doing 1st! But it's one less thing to do.

New battery

Thanks to a X-mass present from gran a gift card. Her old battery isn't holding charge. So see haw this one go's. Try and get it in tomorrow. If the wether is better.

Time and wether…

Having on indoor or covered working space is a bit of a pane in the ass! At the moment when I have time to work no her it been bad wether. Don't really want to take the cover off in the wet it's a really pane to put back on when wet. Hope it's better wether soon so I can get the new battery I just got for her.

Been a bit but getting there, bits of heater

Ok so it's been a bit sins my last post also sins I did anything with the Mini. But l have started cleaning up the bits from the 2 blow heaters I have to try and get a working one. Iv cleaned up the panel with the on off and knob. As you can see from the photos (not good photos) iv taken all the black off the metal and going to leave it like than as I like it. Just put a quick clear over it to try and keep any rust out. Time will tell. More soon.

Heater fix idear…

Right so to get around the hearer motor holes been in the right spot in the shell in my heater I'm going to us centre of the old and the sides of my heater. Just got to get all the rust out and treat and pant. Then fix or get new matrix, then fit new sponge and trimmings. Let you no haw it go's when I get time to do it.

Heater motor problem

Ok I have had some problems with fitting the motor from the heater of eBay in to the shell of the blower from my mini. As you can see from the photos that the holes where the fans fit are 1 inch out.

Heater matrix leak

Ok so at the weekend I got round to working on my heater. I then thought that I'd fill it with water to see if all was well as there was a lot of antifreeze build up between the fins along the bottom.
So I stud it in its end and filled it with water. Then after a bit water started dripping.

So bugger! Something els to do…

Chrome bumper polish and rust

Ok so looks like there are lots off little stone chips in my chrome bumper and rust has set in. Just one biggish one on show. But will do for now.

Blow Heater

Ok so I got a cheep blow heater of eBay. It's a bit rusty so going to remove the fan and motor from it and fitting it in to my heater. As iv taken my old blower apart iv removed rust and the odd twig and stone out, then resprayed the inside, it's silver but self etching stuff. Will be spraying to outside black after getting rust off.

Got a heater off eBay for £20, looks like there's a bit of rust but just need the motor that runs just lovely. So may just move into old one.

Bash Card template

Got round to making a card template to try in mini before real thing. See haw it go's on next good day.

Its covered

Ok glad I got the cover on the car as snow is spots to be coming, seen a little but nothing to wright home about. Just need to get a new battery to get her started.

Little going on

As i have no garage nothing has been fixed.
