Ok so i'v got the parts put on, cap & HT leads. Looks good. Still
haven't started to see if is working.

X-Mas!

Well hope you all have had a good X-Mas. Sa I thort I still haven't
got the car put back together! Just got back home from Mrs mam &
dad's. Hop to have it going befor work starts!!!

Fireing order for firing HT leads

If like me you just pull all the HT leads off and forget to wright
doune where that go. Hears a photo I found to help.

Wasn't a full set so repasing them all.

As you can see the old one is burnned and scorched.

New & old distributor cap

Don't no if I sead enything last week but she stopped working
altogether. She starts to sound like one of the spark plugs wasn't
sparking. I got about 200m up the road and stopped to have a look
under the hood and she concked out.

So i'v got new HT leads, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor arm.
Hoping that will help. Post photos of the old cap, prity bust up.

Snow

Fog>frost

Been a bit from my last post, was weard the other day was realy thik
fog. Then a cold snap that frozz it. Mini didn't like that at all! Had
to jumpstart her. The damp isn't helping with this at all! Still
trying to dry her out. Just keeps geting in.

Ok, got the car going don't no what was honing on with the car but is
running. Don't think is gathering and recarging the battry propaly.
Think it may be the new lights.

Flat battry, stop and help.

Been having problems with the Mini. Battry whent flat. Lukaly a man
gave me a hand to get it going with a jump from his car. Nice to find
people lilt that. Mind I was over his drive and had to push the car so
he cud get in. Hope all is beter tomorrow.

That flat fealling.

Ok so I'm finding it hard to start the car in the morning think the
battry is going flat, don't no if is a short somwhere or not gathering
and charging the battry. Fi eanyone out there reads this and can tell
me haw I can findout what going on let me no thanks.

Cold start

Didn't think I was going to get to work to day frozen car! Thank god I
had some cold start.

New lights

Sorry about the bad photos, where taken on my phone, not alwas the
best in the dark, but sofar my new lights are good in the dark,
haven't been out in the cunty as yet but all is well.

Ok been having tribal with my indcaters, stopes working, was some bad
wirring, but uv fixed that naw, sorry haven't got eany pics of the new
headlights, will try and get them up asap.

Ok, got the new lights in naw, cost £111 including the work he did
last time not to bad.

Will try and get some photos to show the diffrens. Sorry this is a
short one. Hellish day rushing aroung after a slow start.

As you can see from the photos that I have posted that the old mini
lights are a bit dull when there on, not good when there is big cars
wizzing by on a dark night! Was going to but a old light in but just
as cheep puting new lights in. Will post new lights soon as I can.

Ok, got the car booked in to get the new lights on sat 0830h, ealy but
thas fine, post photos to try and see the diffrens.

Bonnet bumps!

Having tribal with the bonnet popping open when I'm at about 60 mph
when I put the lach in the right plase so it sits flush with the
body. Like the pin is piping out when I hit a bump at speed. Swee what
I can do.

Is back...

Got the Mini back wasn't as bad as I thort. But the fuse box may be on
is way out. Also I'm geting some new halegon headlight, as one of mine
has is roten, just costs the same.

Lights out!

So i'v given up and got the car booked in a garage that did her MOT.
good lads. Got the headlights working naw but can't get the back on!

Ok! Having a real bad time with the Mini all the lights are not
working. Only just happend tonight, don't no why it happend. So naw I
have no car! Don't think that. I'm taking it to see the Docter. I'm
realy starting to run out off cash!

Damp

Ok so I'm looking for a way to get all the damp from inside the car,
got no way of putting powered unit in the car, so looking for some
blocks to take the damp out the air in the car. Startting to be a
problem.

Out in the rain

The kids that had a go at the Mini came back but thay got nabed by the
cops, house was coverd in mud. But thay got what was comming to them!

What the hell!

All was going well till I got to the Mini to go to work, set off for
work to find that some idot had let air out of 2 tires on opeset
corners so it looked fine till I started driving.

If I got to my baby I don't no what I would do! Realy P!sed me off!
Was stemming!

Thers on need to stuff like that. Eanyone had eany problems like this?

Lights on lights off

Thort I had fixed the head light on the driver side but it keeps going
off with the bumps. Must be fever doune the line, but apart from that
she's going well.

Ice

Thort that I mite have a problem geting her started today but she was
fine, just the ice on the screens. Ran out of de-icer! So was late for
work agane! Didn't get eanthing dun no the car all weekend. Always
somthing happens that needs fixed 1st.

Minis hate rain!

Slow start today. Damp morrning didn't make her happy. But all is well.

Run out

Just got in from a good run out in the car from Carlisle to Wigton and
back. She when real smoth tonight, no coffing or sputers. Also wasn't
me that was making the traffic slow. Difrent driving in the dark in a
mini, makes you feal even smaller!

Got a head light out when on full, got theat fixed ASAP.

Water water!

Still having problems with watergeting into the car, misty bigest
problem is the boot! Eavry time I think i'v fixed the leak it seams to
be coming from somwhere els! If it keep on like this is going to need
new floor pan! Think the seams need sealed.

Out for a run

Just had a good run out in the Mini, realy need to get that fuel-air
mix right. When I come off hi revs it sputers and some times stals.

Weekend

Well didn't get eanthing dun this weekend with the wether, but there
are still leaks in the boot and door seals! Think the best bet is just
to replase the lot. Was running grat to day. Still a but rich on the
air mix but must be getting there.

Got aset of keys cut and that don't work. Be seeing if thay can do
enthing with then. Only had one set like to have a spear set.

Well she's been fine to day, still haven't got a name for her but
working on it.

Is hear just need the heter pipe so that don't get a chill so much.

Well she was a dream to day, she must of seen me going to look at new
parts fir her.

Looking for the bit to fit…

Ok i'v got hold of a air intake that fits in the engine bay, but naw
trying to find a pipe that gos from the heter to a airbox on the
driver side. Also not shuer where it runs with all things in the way!

As you can see from the fuzzy photos I have fitted red seatbelts and
Unionjack pedal rubber covers.
The tub under the heart is where there was a leak fix that now, befor
chaned the water in the cooling.

Day to day

Well to day the car ran well and all was well, realy was the 1st time
driving in the dark. Wasn't bad.

So what i'v got to do.

So the mini was I a little messy but nothing I thort I can't do or
find somehaw do.

I'v fitted new chrome door and boot locks. Also ther is a chrome
number plate light to fit but need to get some screws to fit it.

I have some wheel arches to fit but still haven't! As I us the car all
week and is always to dark ant night!

So some things I have done sofar are:-
Fix the air filter
Get the engine running beter, but it isn't at is best. Running a bit
rich.

Enging after I refitted the air filtter but not cleenned looks a bit
beter naw I've cleenned it a bit.

Ops

When I got her to myself ther was a problem! The doors didn't lock!!! After 20 mins u figerd it out, the door handels where on the rong doors!

Got to go but will fill in some more later on.

She's a Rover Mini Studio 2 1990. I found her on eBay for £800 (befor the crash). The man that I got her from even put her on a truck and move her nealy 60m to her new home with me.

Where it started.

Ok so i'v always loved the look of classic Minis. So when the I had the money to get one and a need for a car I started looking fo a small project. After a some time looking I found my Mini.
