All stop!

Sorry to say that nothing has been going on. No time no money. Hopping to get the head bolts and get the head block back on befor X-Mass. Well see!

Bolt out the block

As you can see from the photos that the rod snaped at the top end. Just got to get a new one naw.

Ran into a small problem, was putting the head back on yesaday and one of the bolts snapped! So will babe to get new head bolt set! Bugger!

As you can see from photos I spent ages getting as much rust off the water pump wheel as I can ready for panting.

As you can see the mounts are different, will have to mod the new one to same as the old fitting. How I don't no.

Old and new radiator surround. Small problem with the new one. The bottom mount on the new one hasn't got the right fitting. Show in later photo.

Taken out the radiator to give it a good clean and have to say it looks good, didn't gave it a good run out both ways.

Rocker ready to fit

The rod that holds the tappers has one hole bigger than the others. This is for a lock screw to go in to stop the rod from rotating as the other holes in the rod move oil round the tappers to lubricate them.

I put them back on in the same order they came off in, I taped dots into each.

Ok so iv cleaned the rocker up as much as I can, not spotless but the heavy grime is off, look good.

Carburettor

Ok so thort I'd look it over whale it was out, looks good if not a bit dirty. Needle looks in top shape all is good.

Oil between 3&4.

Hear a a closer look at the oil between 3&4, can also see that there is a lot of shut in there to.

The head block.

Had a quick look at the head to day and gasket look like there where some gap between 3 & 4. Oil on the bottom of the head.

Oil and rusty water, cylinders look good no marks or stuff, lots of soot on the piston tops. Post more about the head tomorrow and the carburettor. Hoping to strip and clean a bit.

Ok to keep the push rods in the right order to put back where they came from. Seen this on the web good idea.

Ok so iv started getting the head off and is been fun (hard work started about 11:00am and worked for about 2-3. Never taken any off be for! Wish me luck. Post more later…

Run out of money!

Nothing been going on, money has had to be put on other things to keep
roof over my head. Hopping to get going soon. Eany help or idears are
well taken.

Ok so I'm sitting in my Mini after making a short 3 min video of it
running then cutting out. Must be a crack in the head gasget between 1
& 2. I'd realy like to drop the lot out and giv it a good going over
but no room or the tools to do that. Hope to have the bid up sometime
this week. Will post the link hear and on my Twitter.

What's up?

Realy feal bad not doing eany work on the Mini, but is been quit
chilly. But looks like there may be more sun no the way?! Been looking
round hear and it looks like i'v put a small hole in the botem of the
driver door! And the seal round the back windo has a gap in the rubber
naw. So I may just do all the windo-rubbers and that shud be that.
Need to stop the doors from leaking in just not keeping water out. I'd
realy like th strip hear right back wheals and all off and give hear a
good going over.

What's going on…

Ok so it's been a bit sins my last post, nothing has happend. Just to
dam clod to do eanthing at this time as have no cover to work under.
Had to get a new car to get to work somthing with a bit of grunt, so
if I have to put the Mini on a trayler later. Got a Ford puma 1.7. Not
bat for £650.

Hope it gets beter wether soon so I can start work on her.

Ok so i'v taken the Mini off the goad and put it in the backyard.
Still haven't got her to stay running so I had a word with a mechanic
that me and the Mrs side gos to and as I thort the head gasget between
1 & 2 are prone to go. So I'm going to do a presher test. Sounds like
the next test.

Last of the snow.

Snow and frost has been so bad, glad is melting a little.

Ok so i'v fit all the buts and still not going. Been cheking gaps and
all that stuff, 1/2 of the cilinders just not puting out. Starting to
think that it may be a valve problem, not shuting off or the worst the
piston rings have gon. But will have to see what's what!
